Description
A UK-based fulfillment company providing e-commerce businesses with storage, packaging, delivery, and return management services required improvements to their internal management system. We were subcontracted through an intermediary agency to work exclusively on the frontend of the platform. The system handled products, orders, shipments, returns, warehouses, and client data, serving as a core operational tool for the company.
Challenge
The project was taken over midway after a previous vendor failed to meet quality expectations. The existing codebase had multiple issues, inconsistent UI components, and lacked best practices. The main challenge was to quickly integrate into an ongoing development process, fix legacy issues, implement new features, and ensure timely delivery despite limited direct communication with the end client.
Solution
We stabilized the development process by introducing consistent coding standards and UI patterns, working closely with the intermediary’s lead frontend developer and project manager. Key solutions included:
- Refactoring and cleaning up the existing codebase.
- Standardizing interface components for a consistent user experience.
- Implementing new features based on evolving requirements.
- Maintaining high delivery quality and meeting all deadlines.
