Description
The client approached us with a ready-made frontend built in Lovable and Next.js. The main request was to implement a robust backend and database infrastructure to ensure smooth marketplace functionality. The platform focuses on collectible trading cards, allowing users to manage personal collections, track prices, and interact with global market data.
Challenge
The main challenge was integrating third-party APIs that provide real-time data about card availability, pricing, and rarity. Several APIs existed, each with different limitations, subscription models, and data accuracy. Our task was to research, evaluate, and select the best option, ensuring reliable performance for users.
Solution
We stabilized and extended the platform by connecting backend functionality to the existing frontend and ensuring seamless data flow. Key solutions included:
- Researching and integrating the most suitable third-party API for card data.
- Building the backend with Express.js and setting up Supabase for database, authentication, and ecosystem support.
- Implementing user functionality to create, track, and compare card collections with the global market.
- Expanding the development team to two full-stack developers for faster delivery.
