Description

The platform provides a seamless translation experience for publishing content. Users can submit documents or books for translation and receive completed translations in multiple languages (French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Dutch) within 8 hours while preserving the original formatting. Administrators and project managers can manage translation workflows, configure language settings, monitor deadlines, and handle client requests. The system supports ongoing improvements and dynamic feature updates to meet client needs.

Challenge

Our team needed to turn an early POC - translating one word at a time - into a fully scalable platform capable of translating entire books within just 8 hours. We had to maintain the original formatting across multiple file types (IPAP and TOPX), integrate AI translation (OpenAI) with CMS, payments via Stripe, and email notifications through SendGrid. All of this had to be achieved under a strict deadline, delivering an MVP that met client expectations for live deployment.

Solution

  • Optimized translation workflow by breaking books into larger segments for batch processing, reducing costs and improving speed.
  • Developed a unified CMS (NAVS-3) to store all user, translation, and payment data, simplifying administration and client management.
  • Integrated OpenAI for AI-powered translation, with support for multiple languages.
  • Implemented Stripe for paid translations and SendGrid for email notifications.
  • Delivered the MVP by the agreed deadline and provided ongoing improvements and new features based on client requests.

Technology Stack

  • Frontend: Nuxt 3
  • Backend: Strapi 4, Express.js
  • Database & Caching: PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Payments & Email: Stripe, SendGrid
  • Integrations: OpenAI API
